Sara lives in an interesting world. Her main gig is creating lifelong memories for her clients with wedding, proposal, and elopement photography and videography in stunning locations. I never thought of hiring someone for an elopement, but looking through her work, part of me is jealous my wife and I didn’t just hop on a plane to The Canadian Rockies to get married.

I love the tagline on her website: Weddings for couples who’d rather feel their day than perform it.

In addition to memories for people in love, she’s also finding beauty in every landscape, which is how I found her.

Death Bloom

Ever since my hike up to the Hollywood sign, I’ve become obsessed with death blooms. A death bloom is when a plant shoots up this long, flowering seed pod, in a last ditch effort to spread it’s life.

This process that takes all of the stored energy in the plant to accomplish, and then the plant dies.

Beautiful and sad at the same time.

Music I’ve Found

Shitloads of Money – Liz Phair

As I continue going through all of the music in my Apple Music collection, I came across Liz Phair and remembered how much I liked her.

There were so many songs I wanted to spotlight, but when I heard the line, “It’s nice to be liked, but it’s better by far to get paid,” I knew this was the song for my newsletter.

I still remember seeing her show back in 1998, my photo clearance messed up, but I still had tickets. Makes me wonder if I should have gone to Oberlin College and hung out with her instead of getting an Aerospace Engineering degree.

Speaking of that engineering degree, a lot of people don’t know that I have an Aerospace Engineering degree.

Sadly there was no SpaceX when I graduated, and NASA was a shell of its new self.

As such, I took a different path in life, but it did lead me to singing in my car for all of you!

Holy Crap, I Lost Fifty Pounds: My Marathon, Not a Sprint

I haven’t written a blog post in a while, but thought my journey to getting healthy might be an inspiration to someone out there. A company called My Body Tutor helped a ton, along with a book by a doctor named Katrina Ubell, MD., but in the end I’ll take all of the credit for making the changes in my life such that I have lost fifty pounds in three years.

There is a guy named Travis who is a tinkerer and inventor kind of dude. He decided to take a Big Mouth Billy Bass and put it to better use as a personal trainer.
